Every year, our unit participates in our largest tactical exercise based on our real model. We are talking about the "Jungle Warfare Course" when Marines deployed in Japan and South Korea regularly undergo this type of exercise. As the name suggests, it aims to prepare participants for combat in the demanding conditions of the Pacific. High temperatures, high humidity, an inhospitable environment but also an enemy whose task is to carry out various shots and attacks.
The exercise plan for our unit consists of an initial move and push into positions, where our unit executes a roughly 10km long move in combat mode, through challenging terrain, swamps and waterways. After moving into positions, we create an observation post and a smaller camp from where we continue to operate, perform individual tasks and engage the enemy. After completing all the tasks, the removal from the battlefield is carried out still in combat mode, after which the action ends and a debriefing is carried out after about 24 hours.
